Apex Legends just traded some of its gunfire for Hadokens. The Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 event went live on September 22, bringing mechanics inspired by Capcom's legendary fighting series directly into Respawn's battle royale.

The collaboration runs through October 13, 2026, and goes far beyond a collection of skins. Its biggest addition is the Wildcard Takeover, which transforms Olympus into a Street Fighter 6-inspired arena and lets players channel fighting styles based on Ryu, Chun-Li, Akuma and Dhalsim.

During matches, players can collect tokens across the map to fill their Fight Gauge. Once it is full, they can trigger Fighter Form.

That is when Apex changes dramatically. The camera pulls back into third person while players gain major damage reduction, enhanced movement, blocking capabilities and an entirely different set of special moves inspired by Street Fighter.

It means iconic attacks from Capcom's series, including Hadokens and Shoryukens, can now erupt in the middle of an Apex Legends match.

The mechanic also changes how the endgame works. Players who survive until the final round enter the Showdown, a chaotic free-for-all where downed and respawning competitors immediately return to the fight. The battle continues until only one squad remains.

Olympus becomes a Street Fighter stage

Olympus now features Luke's Gym, smashable trucks, arcade cabinets and other Street Fighter 6 elements.

Respawn has also remixed Olympus specifically for the crossover. The map features a Luke's Gym takeover, smashable Punch Trucks, arcade cabinets, giant Blanka-chan balloons and several other references to Capcom's fighting franchise.

According to the development team, the goal was to make Olympus feel like a living Street Fighter stage while keeping the experience recognizable as Apex Legends.

That makes this collaboration notably different from crossovers built primarily around cosmetics: Street Fighter directly changes how parts of Apex are played.

Eight Legends get Street Fighter-inspired skins

The collaboration also introduces eight new Iconic Legend Skins. Sparrow becomes Ryu, Alter represents Chun-Li, Bangalore takes on Elena, Mirage becomes Luke, Gibraltar channels Akuma, Wattson becomes Cammy, Caustic takes on Blanka and Pathfinder represents Dhalsim.

Eight Legendary Street Fighter 6-themed weapon skins are also available for the R-99, EVA-8, Flatline, Volt, Scout, Mozambique, Sentinel and Peacekeeper, alongside Skydive Emotes, Holosprays, Stickers, Badges, Trackers and Frames.

Another centerpiece is the Hadoken Mythic Universal Melee, a universal melee cosmetic inspired by one of Street Fighter's most recognizable moves and paired with a matching Deathbox.

Free rewards are available too

Beyond paid cosmetics and rewards unlocked with Zenny through the event, players can earn additional promotional items for free.

From September 22 through September 29, watching eligible Apex Legends streams on Twitch for 60 minutes unlocks the Insert Coin Here weapon charm, provided the player's Twitch and EA accounts are linked.

A Discord Quest is also available from September 22 through October 12. Playing Apex Legends for 15 minutes with the required account connection unlocks the Kung Fu Coach Tracker Set.

Apex Legends x Street Fighter 6 runs until October 13

Players who want to experience the remixed Olympus and Fighter Form have a limited window. The Apex Legends VS Street Fighter 6 event began September 22 and ends October 13, 2026.

Apex Legends is free to play on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC through the EA app, Epic Games Store and Steam.
