The GTA 6 launch trailer is finally here. On October 15, Rockstar Games released the last trailer for Grand Theft Auto VI before release: a roughly 90-second look at Jason and Lucia's story in Vice City, set to a brand-new song by Justice, the French duo now confirmed as the game's composer.

It lands just over a month before the November 19 launch on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, making it the final big piece of marketing before the most anticipated game of the decade hits shelves, and the first new footage since August's extended gameplay look.

What the GTA 6 launch trailer shows

Rockstar's official description keeps the premise simple: in Vice City, USA, what should have been an easy score goes wrong, and Jason and Lucia are pulled into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across the state of Leonida. Compared with the first two trailers, which were mostly about the world, this one focuses squarely on the couple.

Jason talks about his time in the army and how his past now keeps him from even qualifying for a loan, while a call from Lucia, made from prison, suggests the two knew each other long before the game begins. There are glimpses of new supporting characters, including one who keeps a very large snake as a pet, and a more intimate side of the relationship, with a shower scene that instantly became one of the most discussed moments online. The trailer ends with Lucia asking whether they will be okay, Jason reassuring her that they have each other, and the pair leaping from a height into a pool.

Justice composes GTA 6's score, with an all-star single

The other headline is the music. The trailer premieres "Flower in a Hurricane", a new Justice track featuring Tame Impala, SZA and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and Rockstar credits the duo with GTA 6's original score. The song will appear on Grand Theft Auto VI: The Album, the official soundtrack, which can already be pre-saved on the major streaming services.

Having a well-known act behind the score is a change for a series whose original music has usually stayed in the background behind the licensed radio. That radio is still coming, too: Rockstar revealed the first six stations last week, which we covered in our GTA 6 radio stations breakdown.

Captured on PS5: what we know about performance

Rockstar says the entire trailer was captured directly on PlayStation 5, and the official page carries a "Plays Best on PS5" badge as part of Sony's marketing deal. The studio did not say whether that means a standard PS5 or a PS5 Pro, so questions about frame rate, especially 30 versus 60 fps on base hardware, will stay open until reviews and technical analyses arrive.

Nothing changes on the date: GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, and a PC version still has not been announced. Pre-orders are open, and if you want to know exactly when it unlocks, see our guide to the GTA 6 release time on the PlayStation Store.

What comes next before the November 19 launch

The launch trailer now sits alongside Trailer 1 (December 2023), Trailer 2 (May 2025) and An Extended Look (August 2026) on Rockstar's official GTA VI site. With release five weeks away, the next milestones should be review embargoes and more soundtrack reveals. Rockstar's leadership also told Bloomberg that the studio's next game will not take another eight years, because the engine, tools and team built for GTA 6 can carry over.
