Battlefield 6 Game Pass access is now official. On October 7, Microsoft used Xbox Wire to confirm that EA's military shooter joins Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass on Tuesday, October 13, playable on Xbox Series X|S, PC and the cloud. It headlines the first October wave and is one of the biggest third-party additions the service has landed this year.

The timing is notable: the game arrives in the library almost exactly one year after its October 10, 2025 launch, giving millions of subscribers a way into one of the best-selling shooters of this console generation without paying full price.

Battlefield 6 Game Pass: date, tiers and platforms

According to the announcement, Battlefield 6 becomes available on October 13 in two tiers. Game Pass Ultimate covers the console, PC and cloud versions, while PC Game Pass covers the Windows release. The Premium and Essential tiers are not part of this addition, so subscribers on those plans still need to buy the game to play it.

This is a full catalog addition, not a trial or a timed demo. Ultimate members also get the EA Play benefits bundled into their plan, which include Battlefield 6 reward packs and a 10% discount on eligible EA digital purchases, a perk worth keeping in mind for anyone planning to buy premium seasonal content.

The rest of the first October wave

Battlefield 6 is not arriving alone. Echo Weaver, Forever Ago and Neon Abyss 2 land on October 8, with Neon Abyss 2 also reaching Premium. Deep Dish Dungeon and the action game Valor Mortis share Battlefield 6's October 13 date, Bluey's Happy Snaps and Chained Beasts follow on October 15, and Beyond These Stars rounds out the wave on PC on October 16.

Clair Obscur and other games leaving on October 15

As usual, new arrivals come with departures. On October 15 the service drops a batch of well-known games, including Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, A Plague Tale: Requiem, Pacific Drive, Evil West, The Casting of Frank Stone, Crime Scene Cleaner, Donut County and Superball, along with the PC Game Preview of Nova Roma.

Clair Obscur is the exit that stings the most. The RPG was one of the most celebrated releases of 2025, so anyone in the middle of a playthrough has roughly a week to reach the credits or buy a copy. Members normally get a discount on games while they remain in the catalog, which makes the next few days the cheapest window to keep it.

Why this is a big get for Game Pass

Battlefield 6 brought the series back to large-scale modern warfare after the mixed reception of Battlefield 2042, restoring class-based squads, heavy destruction and big vehicle-driven maps. Developed by Battlefield Studios, the group that includes DICE, Motive, Ripple Effect and Criterion, it became one of the best-selling games of 2025 and still draws a large multiplayer audience through its seasonal updates.

The move also fits Xbox's push to put the biggest shooters inside its subscription. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 recently joined Game Pass Premium, and having both of the genre's heavyweight franchises in one library strengthens the service's pitch to competitive multiplayer fans.

What changes for players and what to do next

For Ultimate and PC Game Pass members, the cost barrier disappears on October 13. Squads that were split between owners and non-owners can finally drop in together, and since the game supports crossplay, Game Pass players on Xbox and PC can still team up with friends on PlayStation 5.

PC players should check their setup before launch day: EA's launch-era requirements call for Secure Boot to be enabled for the game's anti-cheat, so it is worth confirming that setting in advance. Once the game appears in the Xbox app or on console, members can start the download right away.

The complete list of additions and departures is available in the official Xbox Wire announcement. A second October wave is expected later in the month, so more additions are still on the way.
