RELATED GAMEGenshin ImpactView coverage → Genshin Impact 7.2 has a date: HoYoverse confirmed that Version 7.2, Hour of Ruin, launches on November 4. The update brings two new Electro characters, opens eastern Snezhnaya and pushes the main story toward a crisis that pulls in all seven nations of Teyvat.
For players planning their Primogems, the big news is the banner lineup: Mitya and Valeriy debut alongside a Furina rerun in the first phase.

Genshin Impact 7.2 banners: Mitya, Valeriy and Furina
According to HoYoverse's official announcement, the Event Wishes are split into two phases:
- Phase 1: Mitya and Valeriy make their debut, and Furina returns in a rerun.
- Phase 2: Zibai and Linnea return, and a new Chronicled Wish features selected characters from Natlan.
Mitya (5-star Electro Catalyst)
Mitya turns Superconduct reactions into a new Stellar-Conduct reaction, which boosts the whole party's damage and builds up a special energy. His Elemental Skill deals damage over time based on that stored energy, and holding it unleashes stronger Charged Attacks. His Burst hits an area with Electro damage and generates more energy. Outside combat, his detection device reveals hidden paths in parts of Snezhnaya.
Valeriy (4-star Electro Sword)
Valeriy, a Major of the Armory Palace, is a support who provides shields and raises Electro damage, with the biggest payoff in Stellar-Conduct teams. In practice, that makes him a natural partner for Mitya.

New area: eastern Snezhnaya and Novokitezhgrad
Version 7.2 expands Snezhnaya to the east. A railway leads to Novokitezhgrad, an underground city encased in Kresnik Kristall and the nation's main source of the material, where a colossal ocean creature also lurks. Wingspan Peak leads to Old Kitezhgrad, Snezhnaya's first city.
To clean up contaminated Kristall deposits, players get new Prime Ice Constructs and two elemental shotguns. New Meeting Point quests follow Danica on a secret job for the Tsaritsa and Mitya as he investigates the soil near Teplo Oasis.
Story, events and Primogem rewards
In the new Archon Quest, the Nails of Retribution are awakening, and representatives of the seven nations gather in Snezhnaya at the Tsaritsa's call. Pillars of light trigger the Holy Soil phenomenon across Teyvat, putting every nation in crisis.
- Finishing the Archon Quest within the event period grants 560 Primogems plus Ascension Materials for Mitya.
- Secret Tsarist Assignments add more rewards, including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.
- A main limited-time event, unlocked through the Archon Quest or Quick Start, offers Primogems, upgrade materials and a free 4-star character of your choice. Its area stays explorable after the event ends.
- Side activities include a filming event in Snezhnaya and a mining challenge in Natlan.
Miliastra Wonderland, the creation mode, also gets a masquerade-themed lobby, a free 4-star cosmetic set and more stage-editing tools.

What it means for players
If you already own Furina, phase 1 is mostly a choice between Mitya and saving. Valeriy is the lower-cost pick for Electro teams, and the free 4-star from the event softens the wait. Returning players should push the Archon Quest early, since the 560 Primogems are tied to the event window.
Version 7.2 runs on PS5, Xbox, PC, iOS and Android, with cross-progression and co-op across all of them. New to Teyvat? Read our guide on whether Genshin Impact is worth playing in 2026, or browse our picks for the best free-to-play games.
