The full Marvel Tokon DLC lineup for Year 1 is now known. Arc System Works and PlayStation revealed that Thor (Jane Foster), Venom and Jubilee will join MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls through 2027, after Phoenix Cyclops opens the season on November 2. The announcement landed during the EVO France weekend and completes the four-character plan Sony promised before launch.

For players, it answers the biggest open question since the game came out in August: who the remaining paid fighters are, and roughly when each one arrives.

Marvel Tokon DLC: the Year 1 release schedule

Here is how the Year 1 Characters and Stage Pass breaks down, based on the official reveal and coverage from outlets including VICE and Insider Gaming:

  • Phoenix Cyclops: November 2, 2026
  • Thor (Jane Foster): Winter 2027
  • Venom: Spring 2027
  • Jubilee: Summer 2027

Only Phoenix Cyclops has an exact date so far. The other three have seasonal windows, and the official PlayStation Store page says the remaining pass content, which also includes one new stage, is expected by December 31, 2027.

The Year 1 artwork was drawn by Marvel artist Peach Momoko, and Jane Foster's trailer shows her with Mjolnir in a scene alongside Loki, who is already part of the base roster.

Phoenix Cyclops arrives first on November 2

The PlayStation Blog post published on October 7 gave the most detail so far about the first DLC fighter. Phoenix Cyclops, voiced by Ray Chase, is an all-rounder built around his Optic Blasts.

Landing those blasts builds Solar Shards. With four shards, he can transform into Dark Phoenix for a temporary power boost, with the catch that the form can drain his own health. His Classic and Legacy costumes also launch on November 2 as paid DLC.

Visitors at EVO France, held October 9 to 11, were the first to try him on the show floor.

Price and how to get the Year 1 Pass

On the PlayStation Store, the Year 1 Character and Stage Pass costs $34.99 as a standalone add-on (checked in October 2026). It is already included in two editions:

  • Digital Deluxe Edition ($84.99): base game, Year 1 Pass, Howard the Duck lobby avatar and Cosmo lobby pet.
  • Ultimate Edition ($99.99): everything in Deluxe, plus an animated Chromatic color for all 20 launch fighters and five extra costumes.

Pass owners also get new result-screen poses for the 20 base characters right away. PlayStation Plus members can try the game through a three-hour Game Trial that started on October 7, which is a low-risk way to test it before buying.

Why these three picks matter

MARVEL Tōkon launched on August 6, 2026 on PS5 and PC, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment and developed by Arc System Works with Marvel Games. Its 20-character launch roster already covers big names such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, Iron Man, Hulk, Deadpool and Doctor Doom, plus Carnage, Loki and secret character The Champion.

Venom is the most obvious crowd-pleaser, especially with Carnage already on the roster. Jane Foster's Thor brings in a hammer fighter the game does not have yet, and Jubilee gives the X-Men side another fast, flashy option next to Storm, Magik and Wolverine.

What comes next

The next milestone is November 2, when Phoenix Cyclops and his costumes go live. Exact dates for Thor, Venom and Jubilee should follow closer to each window, likely with gameplay trailers similar to the one Cyclops received.

It was a busy EVO France for fighting game fans. Bandai Namco also confirmed the Tekken 8 Roger Jr release date and gave the first in-game look at Baki's Yujiro Hanma. If you want something to play with friends while you wait, our list of the best online games to play in 2026 has more options.
