RELATED GAMETEKKEN 8View coverage → The Tekken 8 Roger Jr release date is now official: the boxing kangaroo arrives on November 12 for Season 3 Pass owners and on November 17 for everyone else, according to Bandai Namco. The gameplay trailer, shown at EVO France right before the Tekken 8 top 8, also gave fans their first look at Yujiro Hanma, the Baki the Grappler guest fighter who closes out Season 3.
For Tekken players, it means the third DLC character of the season is less than a month away, and the big crossover finally has a face in-game.

Tekken 8 Roger Jr release date and early access
Bandai Namco's official Tekken 8 news post lists two dates. Season 3 Pass holders get Roger Jr. on Thursday, November 12, and the general release follows on Tuesday, November 17. Those dates follow European and Japanese time.
In the Americas, the calendar shifts back by one day. The official Tekken site explains that Season 3 early access lasts 120 hours and runs from Wednesday to the following Monday in Pacific time. In practice, US pass owners should expect Roger Jr. on Wednesday, November 11, with the standalone release on Monday, November 16.
The game is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC through Steam, and Roger Jr. arrives on all three platforms.
What Roger Jr. brings to Tekken 8
Bandai Namco calls him "The Pocket Commander." In his Tekken 8 story, Roger Jr. is framed for destroying a G Corporation building and sets off to confront the man at the top of the company. His fighting style is listed as Commando Wrestling, which mixes strong strikes with pro-wrestling throws.
The trailer leans hard into that mix. Roger Jr. throws boxing punches, tail swipes and kicks, then switches to grabs, including a Giant Swing on King. He also uses a paddling motion in the air to stay airborne longer, which could help him extend combos or set up surprise throws.
There is plenty of humor too. One clip shows him putting Sugar, Leroy Smith's dog, in a headlock, and his Rage Art was described by EventHubs as one of the most outrageous in the series. It is also his first time as a playable fighter in a mainline Tekken game since Tekken 6, although he appeared in Tekken Tag Tournament 2.

Yujiro Hanma: first in-game look at the Baki crossover
The end of the trailer was saved for Yujiro Hanma, the "Strongest Creature on Earth" from the Baki the Grappler manga and anime. He was announced in May at Combo Breaker 2026 as the final Season 3 character, but until now fans had not seen his Tekken 8 model.
Bandai Namco has not given Yujiro a release date yet. The company says his gameplay trailer will debut at the Tekken World Tour Finals on January 17, 2027, which lines up with the winter slot the Season 3 roadmap reserved for him.
Season 3 Pass price and what is included
Roger Jr. is part of the Tekken 8 Season 3 Pass, which also includes Kunimitsu, the first fighter of the season, and Bob, who arrived on August 25. On Steam, the pass costs $34.99 (checked in October 2026), and buyers also received the Aurora Outfit Pack.
Kunimitsu and Bob are also sold separately for $7.99 each on Steam. Bandai Namco has not listed a standalone price for Roger Jr. yet, but it is reasonable to watch for a similar listing closer to launch. Steam notes that Season 3 content is only sold through this pass, not through the older Season 2 editions.
If you are new to the game, the base edition is listed at $39.99 on Steam. Our Tekken 8 beginner's guide covers how to get started before Roger Jr. lands.

What this means for players, and what comes next
For competitive players, the November window gives Roger Jr. a few weeks of testing before the Tekken World Tour Finals in January. Characters with unusual movement tend to shake up matchups early, so expect a flood of lab work once he is out.
For casual fans, the bigger news is Yujiro. Guest fighters have been some of the most talked-about additions in Tekken 8, from Clive Rosfield of Final Fantasy XVI to this Baki crossover, and the January trailer should finally show how he fights.
EVO France itself ended with JeonDDing winning the Tekken 8 tournament, according to Bandai Namco. Fighting game fans had a busy weekend overall: MARVEL Tōkon also revealed its full Year 1 DLC lineup, and Dragon Ball Sparking Zero recently confirmed cross-play in its new roadmap.
