Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is turning 10, and Bandai Namco is sending it off with one last party. A free 10th anniversary update arrives on October 27, followed by the Final Festival of Universes event from October 30.

The event matters beyond nostalgia: taking part unlocks items that carry over to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3, the sequel due in 2027. Here is what is in the update, how the festival works and what you need to do to keep your rewards.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 10th anniversary update: what's included

According to Bandai Namco's official announcement, the free October 27 update adds three things:

  • New login bonus rewards for players who log in during the celebration.
  • Special costumes themed around the anniversary.
  • An updated Gallery of Time, which requires the Future Saga Chapter 4 DLC.

The update is coming to every current version of the game: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

How the Final Festival of Universes works

The bigger part of the celebration starts on October 30. Bandai Namco has not announced an end date yet, so it is worth jumping in early. During the Final Festival of Universes:

  • Raising camaraderie with Trunks, the Supreme Kai of Time or Fu unlocks special illustrations.
  • Hard-to-get items return to the game.
  • Star Coin earnings are boosted to 25 times the usual amount, making it much easier to trade for rewards.
  • Participating can earn a special Gi and a commemorative medal.

How to carry rewards over to Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3

This is the part long-time players should not miss. If you own the festival Gi or the commemorative medal and link your game to a Bandai Namco ID, you will unlock special items in Xenoverse 3 when it launches. The exact reward depends on which of the two items you own.

The official Xenoverse 3 page also mentions a separate link-data bonus: Xenoverse 2 players who connect their account to a Bandai Namco ID and upload their data will receive a reward in the sequel. Doing both during the festival is the simplest way to make sure nothing is lost.

What we know about Xenoverse 3

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is developed by Dimps and planned for 2027 on PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). It moves the series to a new future universe in AGE 1000, centered on an explorable, highly developed West City, with original characters created by Akira Toriyama. Players join the Great Saiya Squad and build their own hero through bonds with iconic Dragon Ball characters.

Notably, Nintendo platforms are not listed for Xenoverse 3 so far, so Switch players should keep an eye on future announcements before planning an upgrade.

What it means for players

If you still have Xenoverse 2 installed, the anniversary is the best moment in years to return: the 25x Star Coin boost speeds up grinding, rare items are back, and the festival rewards double as a head start in Xenoverse 3.
