Enshrouded 1.0 is out. After more than two and a half years in Early Access, Keen Games' survival action RPG officially launched on October 15, 2026, on PC and PlayStation 5, priced at $39.99 / €39.99. The full release opens the whole map, adds the volcanic Cinder's Cradle biome, wraps up the story and raises the level cap to 50.

It matters because Enshrouded was one of the biggest survival hits of the Early Access era, and 1.0 is also the game's first console release. Below: what is new, what happens to your old world, the PS5 details and where crossplay and Xbox stand.

Enshrouded 1.0 release: price, platforms and launch discount

Keen Games confirmed the launch on the official Enshrouded site, and released a first hotfix (1.0.0.1) the same day. According to the studio's launch press release, both versions cost $39.99 or €39.99, with a 10% discount for the first 14 days on Steam and the PlayStation Store. Steam still lists the standard US price at $39.99.

If you already own the game from Early Access on PC, you do not need to buy it again. Keen Games is also giving Early Access players three decorative base props as a thank-you: a statue taller than four meters, a tome with the old "E" logo and a hero signal beacon. They are claimed through the Redeem Add-Ons button in the escape menu.

Xbox players will have to wait. The launch press release confirms the Xbox Series X|S version is planned for spring 2027.

What's new in Enshrouded 1.0: Cinder's Cradle, level 50 and more

The 1.0 highlights and changelog are long, but these are the changes that matter most:

Cinder's Cradle: a new biome split between a lava wasteland below and floating islands above, connected by tendrils of Shroud. It brings 14 new enemy types.

A complete map and story: the whole world is now open, new zones push Springlands, Blackmire and Kindlewastes to the edges of the map, two Hollow Halls open in Albaneve Summits and Veilwater Basin, and the 1.0 story reaches its conclusion.

Progression: the player level cap rises to 50, gear can be upgraded to level 55, and a new Flame level must be unlocked before you can survive Cinder's Cradle.

Combat and magic: nine new spell types, upgradable eternal spells and arrows, necromancy that summons skeletons, and wands with heavy attacks and free aim. Across all factions there are 37 new enemies counting variants, and foes now heal if you break off combat.

Building: the Airborne Architect skill lets you fly freely while building, and Sparkworks adds a logic system with a 2D graph editor to turn bases into interactive adventures.

There are also visual upgrades, including HDR support, better global illumination and a renderer for distant detail, plus voice-over for lore notes and key survivors in English, German and Mandarin Chinese.

Old saves, crossplay and the PS5 version

Your Early Access world still works. According to the official launch FAQ, old saves are converted to a new, more efficient format, but the skill tree resets the first time you load one, so you will need to spend your points again. Keen Games recommends starting a new world anyway, because the opening hours were substantially reworked.

The bigger catch is multiplayer: Enshrouded has no crossplay at launch. PC and PS5 players cannot share a world yet. Keen Games says it is working on cross-platform play but has not given an estimate.

On PS5, creative director Antony Christoulakis told Wccftech that the game targets 60fps on both the standard console and PS5 Pro, with enhanced rendering on Pro. DualSense support covers rumble, adaptive triggers, gyro aiming and gliding, touchpad map scrolling and controller audio, all of which can be customized.

What Enshrouded 1.0 means for players and what comes next

Enshrouded entered Early Access on January 24, 2024, and Keen Games says the game has passed 5.5 million players. With 1.0, it finally reaches PlayStation players, offers a complete world for newcomers and gives veterans a new endgame region.

If you play with friends across PC and PS5, wait for crossplay before planning a shared world. If you play on one platform, the launch discount makes the first two weeks the cheapest time to jump in. The studio says it plans to keep adding free and paid content for years, and the next confirmed milestone is the Xbox release in spring 2027.
