When is GTA 6 coming out?
The wait is getting closer to its end.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That date is currently listed by Rockstar as well as the official PlayStation and Xbox stores.

With launch approaching, the questions are becoming more practical: how much does GTA VI cost, which edition should you buy, when can you download it and what do you get for pre-ordering?
Here's everything Rockstar has confirmed.
What platforms will GTA 6 be available on?
At launch, GTA VI is officially confirmed for:
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X
- Xbox Series S
There is no announced PS4 or Xbox One version.
Rockstar also hasn't officially announced GTA VI for PC. Its support page, last updated August 18, continues to list PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as the platforms available for pre-order.

How much does GTA 6 cost?
In the United States, GTA VI Standard Edition costs $79.99, while the Ultimate Edition costs $99.99.

What's included in GTA 6 Standard Edition?
The Standard Edition includes the full Grand Theft Auto VI base game.
It is available digitally and through the physical Code-in-Box release.
Standard Edition owners will also be able to purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately through PlayStation or Microsoft storefronts.

Can you pre-order GTA 6?
Yes.
GTA VI pre-orders officially opened on June 25, 2026.
Digital pre-orders are available through PlayStation, Xbox and the Rockstar Store, with selected retailers also offering the game.
What is the GTA 6 pre-order bonus?

It contains:
- '55 Vapid Stanier Sedan and Garage;
- Outfits and Hairstyles;
- Exclusive Weapon Pattern.
Eligible digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+, subject to the offer's terms.
When can you pre-load GTA 6?
Pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12, 2026, one week before launch.
Players who digitally pre-order GTA VI will be able to begin downloading the game from that date.
Does GTA 6 have a physical edition?
Yes — but there's a major catch.
GTA 6's physical version does not include a disc.
Rockstar confirms that the physical box contains a digital download code instead.
Physical copies are expected to become available for shipping and retailer pickup beginning November 12, allowing buyers to redeem the code and pre-load the game.
So:
Physical box: yes. Disc: no. Digital download code: yes.
That's particularly important for collectors and players who prefer traditional physical media.
Is there a physical GTA 6 Ultimate Edition?
No.
Rockstar says there is no physical Ultimate Edition.
Physical Standard Edition owners can redeem their download code and purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade digitally afterward.
Are GTA 6 physical codes region-locked?
This depends on the platform.
Rockstar recommends purchasing the game from a retailer in the same region as your platform account to avoid activation issues.
PlayStation codes have specific regional restrictions.
Xbox codes, according to Rockstar's current support documentation, are not region-locked.
That's worth checking before importing a physical copy.

There is still no official PC announcement.
Rockstar currently lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
That doesn't mean GTA VI will never come to PC.
It simply means there is no officially announced PC version right now.

The Ultimate Edition is aimed at players who value its additional vehicles, weapons, apparel, locations and customization content.
And because the Ultimate Edition Upgrade will be sold separately, you don't necessarily need to make that decision before launch.
